We also offer a benchmarking analysis service. This analysis compares your trading results with those of your competitors to show the profitability levels which can be achieved in your industry sector. This information could be vital to maintaining your competitive edge, or to guide you in areas to improve.

Payroll

Running a payroll system can be time consuming and complicated and can divert resources from the core activities of your business. We can address this by installing payroll software and training your staff. We can choose the right payroll software for your requirements.

Outsourcing this activity to ourselves can also help relieve the pressure as we offer a fully flexible cost-effective payroll solution. We provide the complete payroll service, whatever the size or complexity of your business.

Our payroll solution includes preparing your employees gross and net pay on a weekly, fortnightly, four weekly or monthly basis; the calculation of the monthly PAYE payment and the preparation of the year end P35 Employers Annual Return and employee forms P45, P46 and P60.

We also offer a choice of payroll summary reports and payslips, including a security sealed payslip to maintain privacy. Our software allows reports to be saved as PDF documents which can easily be e-mailed for easier storage and future access.

Our payroll service, like all our services, is tailored to your individual requirements. We can also provide new employee record forms and forms for you to use to record the data you send to us.

We are registered with H M Revenue and Customs as an agent for online filing of all payroll forms. Payroll forms are amongst the first business forms where online filing will become compulsory. Due to our investment in computer hardware and software we offer safe and secure data storage and Internet connection.

Bookkeeping

At C Todd & Co we can assist you with all your general bookkeeping requirements. We have the resources to assist either at your offices or at our own offices.

You may require help to write up your books or need us to add the finishing touches to data you maintain in order to create your own management information. If you do not employ a bookkeeper we can take up the role or help you recruit the right person for your business.

We can assist in the development of a bookkeeping system to suit your requirements, using either computerised or traditional hand written systems. Any bookkeeping system we introduce, or maintain for you, will be tailored to suit your individual requirements.

The system we can develop and maintain could be by using a simple pre printed cash book, for example a Simplex or Evrite cash book, or by a cash book designed specifically for your business. If you business affairs are straight forward and the number of transactions in a week or month is small this type of system will suit your requirements.

If the number of transactions in a week or month is large, or if you require monthly or quarterly management accounts or stock control, a computer assisted system would fulfil those requirements. We can offer computerised bookkeeping systems by either using an Excel spreadsheet personally designed for you or off the shelf computer bookkeeping and accounts software, for example Sage, QuickBooks or Iris bookkeeping.

Business Planning and Forecasts

Every business should plan ahead to ensure current and continued success but daily business pressures often conspire to delay the strategic planning process. Financial forecasts are a crucial part of any business plan and we can prepare profit forecasts and cash flow forecasts to assist with your plan.

Such forecasts are limited by the data they include, but we have special systems in place to ensure they are both meaningful and robust. We can provide ‘what if’ scenarios which consider how the forecast or business plan would change if events change.

Our forecasts can be broken down into weekly, monthly or quarterly time frames, and the forecast can be prepared for one, two or three years in the future. The forecast can show when you may require additional funding for your business or when you may have surplus funds available for other investments.
